The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is a nonprofit, global research organization dedicated to advancing human well-being, environmental conservation and equity. Writing profiles for visiting fellows at the centre for the newsletter. Writing features for the website on topics such as non-timer forest products. Based on independent research in the library. Writing out the domains and subdomains for the website – staff profiles etc. Attend staff meetings. Based on your learning objectives a detailed program can be tailored as they have loads of work to be done.
Students with relevant backgrounds and good motivation, projects etc are welcome to apply. Need to have an interest in forestry – the candidate requires a grounding in the type of language used by the forestry scientific community–REDDS schemes, carbon sinks etc. It should be stressed that it is an office based position.Bogor is located about 50km southeast of Jakarta. Interns can stay at the nearby CIFOR lodge. Commuting from Jakarta is not feasible.
Professional writing, research and reporting skills. Good english writing and verbal skills. Passion for any of our main topics. Strong English writing skills to assist with the communication department which is swamped with work but has limited English language people. Video editing skills also highly valued as they would like the interns to do a series of interviews with cifor scientists for web streaming. Web development skills are a plus.
